Bohemian Inspired Shawl

Well I decided to post something a bit different. Wanted to show the progress of a project from day to day. Sorry if the pictures are a bit nasty, using my camera on my phone. I’m calling it the Stevie Shawl for now because it’s a Stevie Nicks Inspired Shawl and the pattern is actually called something else and at the moment it’s in the other room with the project. Here you will find the Stevie Shawl that I am working on.

Stevie Shawl - Day 1 — Stevie Shawl – Day 1

Day 2 – As you can see for day two that I am getting close to working the arm holes. Just a few more rows and it will be there.

Day 3 – I’ve made progress on day 3. Got the arm holes and it’s growing. Day 4 – I didn’t have time to work on it. Mommy and work duties did call.

Day 5 – Well I did make some progress by a few rows on day 5. It is getting bigger and I am so excited to see it’s all coming together. I had a thought as I was working on it, might see about adjusting the pattern some and making something else out of it. 😉

Day 6 – I was working on and off and believe it or not it’s growing and almost complete. However as I was working on it later in the evening, I realized that I had done a major boo boo pattern wise. Now, mind you, you can’t see the boo boo but if you read the pattern at the very beginning you would realize it. But, then again too I’m not sure if it’s a boo boo on my end or that the fact the directions were wrote out but another typo that I found in the pattern. Either one is all together possible. So, boo boo or not. I love it so far. I have decided I am going to make another but going to do it just a tad differently. I also noticed that I did add an extra row. It’s not very clear in the directions if that row is supposed to be there or not. In the written directions it states this row but if you look at the chart that was given this row is not there. But again, I’m still happy with it this far.

Day 7 – I didn’t work on it to much. The life of motherhood and grandmother called. Was able to work on it a bit but not by much.

Day 8 – I’m almost done. Only a row and half to go. However, when I was working on it I realized that I did extra stitches on a previous row I was working on. However, unless you look really hard and good you can’t tell. Plus I think it looks fine to me. After all, isn’t that all part of the art of it? 😉 Day 9 – It’s completed! As I was about done I noticed that the written pattern and the chart pattern was different. There was actually two extra rows in the chart. However, I did not put them there only because I was almost out of yarn. Below is the finished product.
