Well, my daughter came home from school one day and told me that she needed a bag to put her personal things in (she don’t carry a purse yet) and also a pencil case.  I told her I could make her those and I would take her to get some material.

So we headed off to Wal-Mart and she picked out two fat quarters (didn’t think I needed anymore but later found out could have used a tad more) and then we discussed which one would go on the outside and which on the inside.  I told her why don’t we use this for this part and this other the other part?  She agreed.  I think I was more in shock that she agreed then anything else.

So I made her bag and she was very pleased.  Now, I thought she was going to use this one for her personal things as to why I added a loop, but she ended up using it as a pencil case.  Not a problem.  Off to go and get more material.  So that is now on the list of projects to do as Mom.

On a side note:  She told me the other day she had dropped it in the hallway at school and later found it.  One of her friends asked her if it was her bag.  She said she told her very proudly “yes, my mom made it.”   That just melts my heart.  *smile*
