Cream Cheese and Chicken Taquitos

This is a great recipe and one of those ones you can change it up if you wish.

Now when I did mine they came out more like burritos, but hey that's ok. Still was awesome and was a hit with the family.

Baked Ham And Cheese Ring

Family and friends just love this!  Goes fast so may want to make an extra.  I've also used other various meats and cheeses and even put spinach leaves in as well.

Dump Dessert

I’m not really sure of the name but this is a recipe that I got years ago on a yahoo group from a very nice lady that I worked with. It’s really easy to make and my family just loves it! You can use any type of pie filling that you choose. You may want to double batch it because it will go fast!

Breakfast Bread Boats

Here’s a recipe that believe it or not was a hit with the kids. I had acquired some bread loaves that I wasn’t sure what to do with so I made this and it was delicious! There’s absolutely nothing like breakfast for dinner sometimes.

Tator Tot Grilled Cheese

One thing about having my oldest back at home now is that he likes to eat. Let me tell you this boy can pack it away. This past Sunday morning he was hungry and I told him that if he went to the store and got me a few things I would make him something to eat. And he did. He got everything on the list.

I then went and made this for him and let me tell you, about half way through it he was full. The other kids I gave them a half one each. I made mine but I made it smaller and still couldn’t finish it. Needless to say this was a hit with the family.

Breakfast In A Potato

Here’s another one that hubby sent to me via Facebook. This is really good and the kids enjoyed them as well. It even has wiggle room that you can let you imagination go and create them however you want. Even let the kids make their own (with adult supervision of course).

The only suggestion I would say is to use a good size potato and make sure to let it cool enough so that you can handle them if not completely. They do get hot and do stay hot for a while.

Sorry, the family ate them so quick and all of them that I didn’t get a picture.

Chicken Fajita Soup

Seems with the all the recipes going around that even my dear ole hubby is getting his requests in now too. He found this one and really begged me to make it. So with that I did.

Now it’s really easy and don’t take any time at all. I did however, have to make a few substitutions here and there but all in all it was very good. Kids really enjoyed it too.

I didn’t put the peppers in or use the tortillas. I used flat bread I had and for the chicken broth I used the same amount using chicken bouillon. All in all came out the same.

Cheeseburger Cups

Here’s a fun one the kids like and believe me they will eat them up, so make sure to make extra if you can. They love the idea they can top them exactly how they like them. After making these I realized that they may a great idea for your next get together. But watch, they may become popular. They were a thumbs up in this house!

Easy Crock Pot Mac & Cheese

I was cruising through Facebook one night last week and I came across this recipe for Easy Crock Pot Mac & Cheese so I saved the link for later. A few days later I was trying to figure out what to make for dinner because we had a bit of a crazy schedule so I wanted something to basically set and forget. I came across this recipe. Not only would it be simple to make and let it cook it’s own but a lot less dishes to clean up after.

After raiding the fridge and the pantry to see what I did have and what I needed, off to the store I went to get the last remaining items along with a few other things.

I followed the recipe but however, with my crew, a lot of times it’s a double batch kind of deal. After I put the first part in for the hour the cream cheese was still not melted. That’s when it dawned I should have cubed it. I let it go another half hour but still stirring it up from time to time.

Next came time for the macaroni and I put it in and mixed. Set it and forgot it. I then dropped my middle son off at scouts and then run to the drug store to get hubby’s script filled. Came home and it was done. The macaroni’s were not as done as I would have liked it, but the hubby and the twins ate. I unplugged the crock pot and then left to get my son from scouts and back to the drug store to pick up the script.

Once home I couldn’t wait to dive into this delicious dish. To my surprise just setting in the cooker that amount of time unplugged there was still enough heat left and that to finish cooking the macaroni to how I like it. Let me tell you this was delicious! Such a rich creamy texture I immediately realized I probably shouldn’t have made a double batch but this would also taste good with some sort of meat in it as well.

I do recommend that you try this dish and see for yourself. The recipe can be found here.

Dehydrated Candied Apples

With fall upon us there is an abundance of apples this time of year. One thing I like to make, and the kids love it too, is dehydrated candied apples.

Crock Pot Lasagna

Here’s a meal that you set and forget for a while. With football season upon us and the kids at practice this time of year my slow cookers get a work out whether it’s for the side dishes or the main dishes. This one I must say was a hit with the kids. I just wish I would have double batched it as it was really good.

Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza

Here’s a recipe that I found some time ago and wanted to try. However, just like anything you have to adjust it for yourself. In my case I don’t think my pan was as big as theirs as I didn’t use all 16 crescents but about 12. In any case this was a hit with the kids and they can’t wait for me to make it again.

Cheesy Tortellini

Here’s another recipe that I found when cruising Facebook one evening. I’m sure you seen it around.

Well if your like me you may not have all the fancy stuff in your cupboard and when your feeding a family of six, every penny counts. So off to the pantry to see what I had and off to the store to get the rest.

Instead of fresh spinach, because lets face it, it’s not always available and in this case it wasn’t, I used frozen spinach. Instead of Italian style diced tomatoes I had salt free regular diced. No veggie broth either. I ended up making chicken broth with bouillon cubes.

Put everything into the crock pot and let it cook for six hours.

After words, the family had mixed reviews on it. Didn’t really tell the kids that there was spinach in it but they soon figured it out. Not really a hit with the kiddos but hubby and I liked it.

Thinking though if I make it again maybe add some sort of meat such as sausage or maybe little meatballs of some sort.

So I was cruising through Facebook one night and I came across this recipe for Spaghizza. I thought it might be neat to try since it’s two of the kids favorite foods. Plus the recipe didn’t seem hard at all.

So as I was preparing my grocery list for what I needed for the week I added the items I needed to make this.

Last night we decided to make this. However, I did not realize I needed more eggs. I only had two. So I used them instead of the four it calls for.

After it was made, baked, and cooled we dug in. It was a hit! It’s almost like eating spaghetti but without all the mess. Later in the evening I thought that this recipe has room for so much more that can be done. The wheels have been turning and I think next time I may try it with some meat inside and see how it comes out.
