So a few months back I was at Wal-Mart and came across a Paracord Bracelet Kit which makes six bracelets.  Well, if you know me, sometimes it get put back on the back burner for a while until I get to it.  So is the case.

I opened it and read the directions which seemed very clearly to do.  First bracelet came out good.  However, I totally did something wrong and it only fit my daughter’s wrist for some reason.

I then tried later on in the day to make the next one.  Well, I had a duh moment.  I thought if I could take my tapestry needle I could weave the ends in and make it much nicer on the back side.   I was always taught to make the back as nice as the front.  Ok, worked fine.  Then another duh moment.  It’s nylon cording.  Why the glue?  Add a little heat/flame to it, you can melt it into shape.  That’s fine for adults but children should either let an adult do this step or stick with the glue.

So I fixed the second and the first one.

The next morning my middle son seen it and wanted it.  Ok, fine.  I gave it to  him.  Went about my business.  After a while, the cording I had cut that you knot over came out.  What?!?

So then I decided to cruise YouTube.  Yeah, a bit late but it’s ok.  Looked up how to do it and watched a few videos.  Come to find out, you don’t need to cut the cording like it says but leave it as so, and work over it!

Then came time to make one for my youngest.  However, I tried it different and made a two color one with the method they showed.  Worked wonderful!  I then made another one for me.

So with that the kit is fine.  However, I would recommend you check out YouTube and see how different people are doing them and work with what is best for you.  Might even be cheaper if you got a couple things of cording, a few buckles, and some time to spare.  But all in all, I would say it’s a good product and value.  However, not really thrilled with the instructions.

You can find this at your local Wal-Mart or craft store.  It may also be ordered directly from Leisure Arts.

Happy Crafting!
