Make Your Cake Taste Like Homemade or Bakery Bought Cakes

So a few days ago I was scrolling through Facebook on my phone like I do from time to time and I came across this image:

So, I saved it.  A few days later I was thinking that I so wanted to try this.  So I went to the store and got a Carrot Cake mix and Cream Cheese Frosting.  However, I didn’t make it that day but the next day instead which also happened to be my oldest sons birthday.

So I made this cake, adding the one extra egg all the while thinking “man, I don’t know about this”.   But at the same time the more I looked at it while it was mixing with the mixer I seen it almost started to look like homemade batter and not cake box.

I then baked and let the cake cool.  After it was cool I melted down the frosting a bit in the microwave and then poured it over the cake.  It was a really nice looking cake.

I then posted it to my Facebook page and people from all over was wanting the recipe.  I was shocked but at the same time I was patiently waiting for the oldest to come over so we could taste it!

IMG_0939Finally!  The moment of truth!  Heck with the ice cream I (I should say we, kids where as impatient as I was) wanted cake!  The first bite I was in heaven!  I could not believe the taste of the cake and how moist it was!  Even my oldest was impressed (and I made him quite a few cakes too)!

So, with that here I am sharing the above so that you may make your own delicious goodness and then again people could think you spent hours making something so rich and delicious!

So let’s recap the simple instructions:

  1. Grab your favorite cake box mix
  2. Read the instructions
  3. Add 1 extra egg (2 if you want it richer)
  4. Replace oil with melted butter and double it
  5. Replace water for milk
  6. Bake according to directions on box
  7. Enjoy!
