Back in the spring I was contacted about making a jersey quilted wall hanging from some old jersey’s.  Ok, that would be no problem.

After some time as to which way to do this quilt and taking measurements and so forth, I discovered that this would not be a small quilted wall hanging.  As much as I tried to figure out if it was possible, it just was not going to happen.

So I continued on making it as small as I could and put each piece together.  Yes, there was some obstacles in the way but it was on those obstacles that I had to rethink a few things.

The end result was such a success.  It ended up being a full size quilt with tabs on the back to hang.  This way if they wanted to use it for a wall hanging they could or if they wanted to use it for a nice warm quilt they could.

It was a birthday/anniversary gift from a wife to her husband of many years.  When we took it over he was so excited and started telling us about all the stories each jersey represented to him.  Which is one thing I love, is stories from time gone by.  As you learn about people, places, and history.  My heart was so touched as was his.

This is one project I don’t think I will forget anytime soon.
